Spring Development 3 on 3

LEARN TO PLAY PROGRAM

Learn to Play Hockey Program is an introduction to and continuation of hockey specific skills for players born from 2019 to 2022. The young players will receive professional instruction on skating and puck handling skills while being encouraged in a positive and FUN atmosphere.

The program is built on playing exciting on-ice games that are designed to help development. New players will discover techniques to recover when they fall as well as progress their balance, skating stride, turning and stopping ability. More experienced players will increase their edge control, balance and speed. All participants also learn how to properly hold a hockey stick, and how to handle pucks. The program creates a fun environment were players will enjoy some of their first hockey experiences!

Players must be comfortable wearing full hockey equipment and have the ability to stand and move along the ice on their own.

– 6-week program beginning April 21-2026

– Thursday afternoons 4:00pm -4:45pm

– Players may be grouped depending on level of skating

Be sure to register early! Program is expected to fill quickly again this season.

Once groups are full, we will assign players to their teams to ensure close to equal games.

Spring 3 on 3 Program

Eagles 3 on 3 Spring Hockey Is returning for the Spring of 2026 to once again provide players of all skill level the ideal opportunity to further develop their fundamentals while enjoying the fun, fast paced environment of 3 on 3 Hockey.

All sessions are 75 minutes in length. Sessions are structured to consist of 30 minutes of SKILL DEVELOPMENT delivered by the Canmore Eagles staff and players. The following 60 minutes will be organized 3 on 3 GAME PLAY

Group 1- Tuesdays Y.O.B Grouping (2017-18-19) 3 on 3 will feature FOUR teams of 6 Skaters. 3 on 3 games will be cross ice or half ice which guarantees more puck touches, more battles, more shots, and more fun for all players.
Group 2- Tuesdays Y.O.B Grouping (2015-16) 3 on 3 will feature FOUR teams of 6 Skaters. 3 on 3 games will be cross ice or half ice which guarantees more puck touches, more battles, more shots, and more fun for all players.
Group 3- Thursdays Y.O.B. (2012-13-14) 3 on 3 will play THREE 20 minute games each session. Each team will play 3 on 3 against each other at every session

KEY Components of the Program

– 6 week program with 30 Skill Minutes per session to further develop skill, tactics, and hockey IQ.

– One Session per week with Early Start times! Avoid conflicting schedules by having consistent days and times! No games on the weekends!

– Professional Instruction towards Power Skating, Puck Handling, and Shooting!

– Games will utilize a scoreboard, in game music and be refereed according to the 3 on 3 rules.

– Equal ice time for all. Buzzer will sound after 90 seconds to initiate shift change.

No lopsided games! Players are placed on equal teams. If any team has a 5 goal lead the losing team can play with 4 players until the lead is only 2 goals.
